The Capulana
This is the fabric that moves us, the reason for our existence .
With the arrival of Arab-Persians in the 9th and 10th centuries, capulanas reached northern Mozambique, initially on Mozambique Island, as a form of currency used in trade with the Mwenemutapa Empire.
É um tecido feito em 100% algodão, com estampagem waxprint e, atualmente, é símbolo da cultura moçambicana, especialmente da identidade feminina. Em Moçambique, ninguém usa a capulana por um acaso. Cada mulher tem aquela que carregou o primeiro filho, a do casamento, a do luto e de outros momentos marcantes na sua vida. Cada capulana tem um significado e uma história. A capulana é história que se veste. E é esse o objetivo da Capubag : espalhar esta cultura de forma autêntica, no dia a dia.
AS ephareyas
Ephareya é o nome dado aos nossos sacos de praia e significa “ praia ” no dialeto moçambicano Macua.
They were designed to accompany sunny days at the beach, being more spacious, versatile and practical, with an internal pocket to store essential items.
Each Ephareya represents the connection between the beaches and seas of Mozambique and the identity of Capubag, carrying with it the history and inspiration that gave rise to the brand.
The Ekamizas
Ekamiza is the name given to our shirts and means " shirt " in the Mozambican Macua dialect. More than just a piece of clothing, they represent an expression of authenticity and identity.
They were designed for those who seek to stand out and assert their individuality, without fear of being different. With a relaxed fit , they offer comfort and a laid-back style for everyday wear.
Each Ekamiza combines the cultural richness of the Mozambican capulana fabric with a contemporary European approach, creating a piece that connects tradition, culture, and modernity.
